Monasterio De Los Basilios
The hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Granada, bordering the Genil River, between Violon Way and the Salon Gardens.

Monasterio De Los Basilios
The Monasterio De Los Basilios Hotel was built on the site of an old "Morábito" (Muslim convent) in 1616 by the Bohórquez family, Marquises de los Trujillos. It architecture remains in keeping with the appearance of this famous building. The interior is quite austere but very attractive, with wood beamed ceilings, wooden framed windows and lots of Andalusian tiles.
The 76 guest rooms are not very large, but all are modern and fully equipped. The restaurant offers good service and quality meals. It serves both regional and international cuisine.

Reception staff rude and unhelpful. When we arrived despite giving them the documentation supplied we were told that there was no reservation for us - we protested saying that we had made the reservation on the internet and payment had already been taken. They finally allocated us a room.
Very noisy at night, we stayed two nights and on both ocassions the noise levels from 12.00pm - 2.00am meant that we had no sleep.

Really nice inside and close to the centre, and good breakfast for Spain.
Main gripe is with car parking, which they advertise as having. It is simply an 80 cents discount off the EUR 18 per day cost at a nearby public car park. I felt cheated by that, a cost I had not factored in.
Top Tip
Buy tickets to the Alhambra in advance, and make sure you know where to collect them (at main entrance at the bottom of the hill). Signs do not explain, and it is easy to walk straight up to the top by a different route. Plan a whole day there and bring an umbrella!
