The hotel was not in a good location. We arrived late Friday and there we no bars or restaurant open. The area was a bit of a ghost town and we struggled to find anything open all weekend including a pharmacy. The hotel was clean and there was an outside pool which wasn't clearly highlighted and we came across it on our last day which was disappointing as the pool was small, but quite nice. The reception staff we very friendly and helpful, where as the restaurant staff hardly spoke English and couldn't really communicate with you. The restaurant manager was abrupt and rude. Also it was 34 degrees out there, the air conditioning was not working for the first night which made it impossible to sleep. Not the best experience I have have had in a hotel in Spain. This hotel is not UK 4* more like UK 3* though it does look more modern than the other hotels in the area. If you don't pay for half board to purchase an evening meal it 46 Euros which is very expensive for what you get also all drinks and snacks from the bar are very highly priced. 5 Euros for an 150ml orange juice and small coffee when in town the same costs only 2.50 Euros. Also the overall cost of booking the hotel was expensive and was not value for money. I was very disappointed.

The main attraction the La Alhambra is amazing but book from the UK 2 weeks ahead of your journey. It is worth visiting, but not when you have to queue for 5 hours due to rubbish Spanish organization. Granada is not sent up for tourism, by this the shops do not open on an evening, saturday between 12- 6 and sunday at all. This includes restuarants. The main city is full of griffatti and the street signs and signposts are a nightmare to navigate. No one really speaks English. If you are not going to hire a car then don't visit longer than a weekend as you will struggle for stuff to see. The transport system is not good.

We decided to stay out of the town centre in order to have a pool. Temperature was between 85 - 92F. But pool closes 15th Sept when winter starts!!! (No advice of this before arrival)There was nowhere at all to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. A great disappointment.
